Lets be honest, Facebook is THE college website. Yeah there is Digg, Myspace, College Humor, and of course Ask a College Kid, but none draw out peoples obsession on such a level as Facebook. The large majority of college students make Facebook their first online destination of the day (and usually their last). There are different types of people who use Facebook. Some are more social and others are more annoying. In my observations I have realized that there are four types of Facebookers.

Everything You Need to Know About Drugs
Some of you may already be familiar with this website, but for those of you who are not, allow me to introduce you to Erowid. Erowid is an in depth website that provides accurate, non-biased, information on the effects of commonly used drugs. Remember though, many of the drugs shown on this website are dangerous (and outlined as so). Erowid is meant to inform and educate. So use at your own risk.
Cheers!

HD T.V. on your Computer?
So yesterday I was on abc.com checking out show times and I noticed that they are now streaming Lost and Grey's Anatomy in HD. I decided to try it out and it actually worked very well. I watched a first season episode of Lost and it loaded in no time and it looked just as good, if not better than the DVD version.
Because it is ABC's website there are still advertisement during the shows, but the episode I watched had only three 30 second ads. That is a lot better than regular T.V. My only real upset was that even in full screen mode you still see the top bar of your browser and your task bar.
As far as internet connection, my Comcast apartment connection is pretty fast (although its no screamer). I suppose those with slower school connections may have trouble, but you might be surprised how well it runs.
You can check it out here.
Cheers!

Watch TV Sitcoms
Recently one of our favorite websites, TV Links(tv-links.co.uk), got shut down by the British government. In the search for a replacement online television site, I found WatchTVSitcoms.com. This site has a good selection of shows and decent quality. TV Sitcoms is more reliable than many others, but I am keeping my eyes out for new media sites that might pop up.
Let us know if you have any other recommendations.
Also, for all you South Park fans, check out www.allsp.com, it is the single greatest thing ever.
Cheers!

Be Nice, Give Some Rice... FOR FREE!

Free Rice is a new website that started out in early October which allows people to pretty much donate rice in a click of a button.
The unique thing about this though is it is somewhat of a game. They give you a word and you must choose from four answers on what the word means.
In less than 2 minutes I had already donated 100 grains of rice to the hungry. This may seem like a small amount, but together we can feed thousands. Give it a try and it will even make you smarter!

Musicovery - The New Way to Discover Music
The other day I stumbled upon this gem. Through certain settings such as choosing your mood, which decade, if not all, you will be a second away from discovering new music. The way that it came in handy for me was getting ready for Friday night, I just chose energetic music and I had endless tunes coming out of my speakers.
Check out Musicovery here.

Make a WeeMee
So the latest thing these days with with AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) is these things called WeeMees. Don't ask where they got the name from because I don't know. One thing I do know, is when someone told me about them, I thought they meant a Mii from the Nintendo Wii. After a little research I found out that these things are just fancy shmancy buddy icons. And you can probably guess what I did. Yep, I made one (damn it!). Don't know why; maybe I was just bored or something, but I did and that's me in the corner.
If you want to give it a try you can go to the AIM website here. The cool thing about it is they automatically make it your buddy icon. The bad news is that you need the latest AIM for it to fully function, so that's bad news for people who use Pidgin (this guy right here) and other instant messengers.

T.G.I.F. - Striptease
You probably just read the title and thought to you self "What the !@#$?" It obviously worked seeing your reading this now. I figured since it's Friday we could learn about something besides the Philosophy of Plato or how to calculate compound interest.
Wikipedia has a wonderful section on Striptease where it goes through the history of striptease as well as where it can be found in the movies.

Enjoy!

Find Online Radio Stations
You know those times where your not at your own computer and you feel empty without your iTunes? Well, I do, and I found something that can help you fix it, so you can once again feel whole.
iHeard is a website that allows you to search for radio stations by Genre, Country, or even a language. This is a good alternative if you just forgot your iPod or your just sitting around at Starbucks browsing the internet.

Shopping Online? Check for Deals First!
The college kids and I found this nifty website that lets you find coupon codes for tons of online sites. The website is called Retail Me Not and it lets you find deals through their site or through their Firefox extension. The extension is cool because it will automatically notify you if the site you are on has any coupons.

Control the Music
I don't know the name of this or exactly it's purpose, but it's fun to play with regardless. In a nutshell it allows you to control the the volume of the sound as well as what instruments are playing in it's catchy song loop.
Give it a Try

Places To Watch TV Online
College Kids,
Do you know of any good sites to watch TV online?
Seth
20 Years Old
Heatherbrook, AZ
Seth,
There are many of sites out there but there are three really good ones that we think you will like:
TV Links - TV Links is our favorite and most recommended. It has a great selection of American TV shows and movies. They usually load fast and are decent quality.
Peekvid - Peekvid comes in a close second. It too has a great selection of shows and movies. Quality and reliability can vary depending on which site they link off of.
Channel Chooser - Channel Chooser is the smoothest of all the sites. Unfortunately its selection is very different than the other two sites. Of course, If you are looking for something different this is the site to be at.
Cheers!
